Merry Christmas and best wishes for a better New Year 2023

Today it’s Winter Solstice –  the day with the shortest period of daylight and longest night of the year. It may have been an ‘annus horribilis’ for many people this year, and the suffering still continues in Europe with the ongoing war in the Ukraine and crisis in the economy.

For me personally it has been a year of creation and quite many good things happening are happening now. I just want to thank each and everyone of you for good co-operation and a positive attitude.

Have a relaxing Yuletide with your near and dear ones., We look forward to lighter and far better times in 2023. In our Family Businesses we have donated our Christmas gift funds to help out children in Finland through Pelastakaa Lapset ry – Save the Children Finland and once more to the Ukraine through the Red Cross.

Saari Partners first exit marks also Aboa Advest’s first exit

Warm congratulations to all four Partners in the Saari Partners team for their first exit: Cervi Talotekniika was sold to Intera Partners.

We are happy investors as this is also the first successful exit for Aboa Advest.

Deep Tech & Voima Ventures

We made a commitment to invest in Voima Ventures new fund for Deep Tech. Deep Tech implies companies that found their commercial activities on research and science,  and Voima Ventures ability to commercialise their business on a global scale. Thank you to General Partner Inka Mero and Aboa Advest team Catarina Ketonen & Mikael Ketonen for their insight and input in our discussions.

At this stage we made a soft commitment in Voima Ventures fund III with its first closing at the end of this year or early next year. Voima Ventures previous funds have invested in companies like Betolar, Infinite Fibres, Paptic, Quantogenia and Solar Foods.

Aboa Advest’s investment strategy is based on impact investing and a diversified portfolio through investments in buyout funds and Deep Tech.
